BuildWise approached us to develop a cross-platform mobile app that could bridge the gap between on-site teams and digital estimation workflows. The objective was to create an intelligent, user-friendly tool capable of analyzing building layouts, pipe routes, and structural components to predict exact material requirements using AI and computer vision. Our role spanned UX/UI design, mobile development, AI model integration, and backend infrastructure setup, ensuring that the app was both technically robust and field-ready for construction professionals.
The Challenge
Traditional estimation methods were slow, error-prone, and heavily dependent on manual calculations. BuildWise wanted a mobile-first solution that could work both online and offline, interpret PDF drawings, and instantly generate cost and material breakdowns. The main challenges included: Integrating AI-based visual recognition to detect materials from blueprints. Designing a clean, technical UI suitable for on-site use with limited connectivity. Ensuring high accuracy and fast computation on mobile devices. Syncing data securely with the cloud for team collaboration and version control.
The Solution
We built BuildWise using Flutter for the mobile app and Python-based AI services deployed on the backend. The app integrates with Firebase for authentication and data storage, and uses a custom API to process uploaded drawings through AI material recognition models.
